In Christ's life of perfect obedience to God's will, His suffering, death, and resurrection, God provided the only means of atonement for human sin, so that those who by faith accept this atonement may have eternal life now and in the world to come. Christ's sacrifice fulfilled the requirements of justice and opened the way for mercy.
Jesus lived without sin, yet He took upon Himself the consequences of our rebellion. On the cross He bore the penalty that we deserved, dying the death that sin brings. His resurrection confirms that the Father accepted His sacrifice and that death has been conquered.
Salvation is offered freely to all who repent and believe. We cannot earn it by works; it is received by grace through faith in Christ alone. His atoning work is sufficient for every person and effective for all who come to Him. Through Jesus we are reconciled to God, forgiven, and given new life.
