God the eternal Father is the Creator, Source, Sustainer, and Sovereign of all creation. He is just and holy, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. The qualities and powers exhibited in the Son and the Holy Spirit are also those of the Father.
The Father is the first Person of the Godhead, yet He is not greater than the Son or the Holy Spirit. All three Persons share fully in the divine nature and in the work of salvation. The Father sent His Son into the world to redeem humanity and sent the Holy Spirit to convict, transform, and empower believers.
God the Father cares for each person with a love that is personal and enduring. He hears prayer, forgives sin, and invites all people into fellowship with Himself. Through faith in Christ we may address God as our Father and experience the assurance of His fatherly care. His character of justice and mercy is fully revealed in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.
